Hibernation / Noisebath PH Noisefest Flyer

Hibernation @ Noisebath PH Experimental Noisefest (April 23, 2016 / Tarlac City) newsprint flyer.

Hibernation S/T (NB-2011#005 October 2011)

This is the first S/T record of Hibernation. It was released on October 2011. It contains noise pulses/static noises/etc and modulated spoken words. Themes: boredom, uncertainty, social malfunction and mental illness. (CD not available)

Hibernation / CNN Philippines / Aug 9, 2016

"Hibernation (a.k.a Ryan Pangilinan) is a noise improviser and engineering graduate from Tarlac. He engages in the brooding and the sonically grotesque, as a master tinkerer of guitar effects and homemade sequencers and synthesizers. A lot of his sound pieces sprawl over twenty minutes or more, approaching the border of harsh noise and dealing with self-proclaimed themes of boredom, darkness, loneliness, social malfunction, mental illness. The sound may seem unsettling to unaccustomed ears but that is the very function of harsh noise — to express the dark and the unspeakable, to show the void by means of getting in touch with the deep black recesses of the mind."

Hibernation / RETM TXF, Cubao

Hibernation - Ruthless Expert Trip Mental Music / June 22, 2016 / Today X Future, Cubao, Philippines. Rotten noise. Static walls of boredom. Social sickness.

Hibernation / Pixel Collective Experimental Night (March 19, 2016)

Last March 19, 2016, Hibernation performed a harsh noise set in Boiler Room, Makati for Pixel Collective's Experimental Night. Other artists who also had set at that night were Lush Death and Ugong. I gave some copies of In Trash We Trust CDs to selected people who went there. Another night of noise and mental sickness.

Hibernation and Lush Death / Dead Nation Noise Bombing / May 22, 2016

Dead Nation Noise Bombing was a public live set collaboration of Hibernation with Lush Death. It was held in Maria Clara Auditorium, Camiling, Tarlac. Lush Death is a noise artist from Rizal, Philippines. He came to Camiling, Tarlac together with his friend for this on-the-spot noise performance. A total of 40-minute live noises disturbed the silence of the whole auditorium.

Hibernation / Noisebath Experimental Noisefest (April 23, 2016)

Hibernation performed at Noisebath PH which was held in Talyer Cinco, San Rafael, Tarlac City. My 20-minute set includes harsh noises from my drone generator and contact mic. Actually, I cant clearly remember what happened during the whole set. I was just tweaking knobs and drowning myself into the sea of rotten noises, sickness and mental glitches.

istatik.exe (NB-2016#014 C-Side Feb 2016)

Right after I made my first contact mic, I thought about taping it into a stapler to utilize the mechanical sounds that it makes when I grip on it and flip it around. I recorded it immediately because the sound was interesting. It sounded like an industrial sound with tight glitches of distorted mechanical clicks and twists. I feel the darkness of this record. It has a mood that i haven't felt from my previous albums. I felt like I was in the right track of expressing something that is totally ugly and boring. Theme: boredom, darkness, loneliness, social malfunction, mental illness.

In Trash, We Trust / NB-2016#015 C-Side / Feb 2016

In Trash, We Trust is the 15th catalog of Hibernation. I recorded this using my handmade sequencer and my trusty D.A.W. Its a harsh noise layered with FX driven noises.
The album cover is a piece of art the I made from torn pieces of book pages that i found interesting and it eventually fitted the concept of the whole record.
Theme: social boredom, confusion, mental retardation and illness.
Official release of this album was in February 2016 (Noisebath PH / Corporate Ghosts Records).

DIY Contact Mic

I assembled a contact mic using these transducers. This equipment is enough to make extreme feeback sounds and lofi noises. I can attach it into a shaker and swing it around to make these pitch-varying sounds.
